This article examines an emerging brief intervention for trauma processing that is showing surprising effectiveness in view of its simplicity, tolerability, safety, and avoidance of focus on traumatic material. The method is the Flash Technique (FT). The study reviews its application in treating secondary trauma among healthcare professionals and psychotherapists. The authors explore FT’s clinical utility, implementation methods, and neurobiological foundations. The study assesses individual and group application, including its evolving role as an adjunctive method in EMDR and other approaches to trauma.
This course is based on the reading-based online article, Flash Technique in a Scalable Low-intensity Group Intervention for COVID-19 Related Stress in Healthcare Providers created by Dr. Philip Manfield et al in 2021.
