About the Course

This article presents an in-depth exploration of substance use treatment for individuals experiencing homelessness, highlighting the complex interplay between addiction, mental health, and the lack of stable housing. It reviews current research on the unique barriers faced by this population, including limited access to healthcare, stigma, and the need for flexible treatment options such as harm reduction strategies. The article advocates for a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to care that addresses both immediate and long-term needs. It also provides evidence-based recommendations for implementing person-centered interventions that prioritize the well-being and dignity of homeless individuals, emphasizing the importance of integrated care to improve outcomes.
