About the Course

This course focuses on examining e-cigarette use among Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) youth in the continental United States, utilizing data from the Monitoring the Future Study (2018-2019). It is a methodology-intensive course that covers various aspects of e-cigarette use, including patterns of current use, regular use, JUUL use, vaping of nicotine and flavors, as well as self-categorization of race and ethnicity. The course also explores the associations between e-cigarette use and factors such as gender, region, mother’s education level, current school grade, and overall prevalence of use.
