Efficacy and Acceptability of Interventions for Co-occurring PTSD and SUD: A Meta-analysis

About the Course

The material for this course is research-focused and heavy on statistics. The material for this course is a recent meta-analysis exploring various treatment approaches for individuals with comorbid Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). The study included 28 randomized clinical trials and examined the efficacy and acceptability of trauma-focused and non-trauma-focused treatments. The findings shed light on the effectiveness of different interventions and provide valuable insights into the treatment landscape for individuals with comorbid PTSD/SUD. Further investigation is needed to determine the most suitable approach for each individual. The material for this course is research-focused.

This course is based on the reading-based online article, Efficacy and Acceptability of Interventions for Co-occurring PTSD and SUD: A Meta-analysis created by Tracy L. Simpson, PhD et al in 2021.
