Maintaining Appropriate Professional Boundaries and Ohio Addiction Law

Meets ethics requirement for Ohio Gambling Endorsement

About the Course

This course is for Ohio addiction professionals who are seeking or renewing a gambling disorder endorsement.

Mental health professionals are charged with the legal and ethical responsibility to maintain
professional boundaries, but the obligation isn’t always so easy to discern. This course brings
real-world context to ethical concerns often experienced by professionals in practice in
maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. This course will provide a framework to
contemplate ethical dilemmas and make informed decisions that insulate professionals from
legal liability while protecting clients from harm.

This course also includes the Ohio Addiction laws that are pertinent to those who hold a gambling disorder endorsement.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, Maintaining Appropriate Professional Boundaries: Exploring Ethical Obligations of Mental Health Professionals created by Kathryn Krase, Ph.D., J.D., M.S.W. in 2023 and on the reading-based online, Ohio Addiction Professionals: Ethics & Laws created by OCDPB in 2017.
