Motivational Interviewing Part 1

Helping people change and grow

About the Course

Motivational Interviewing is a decades-old but still vibrant and effective approach to helping through the process of change. Building on clinical experience and research over fifty years, the authors offer a description of a philosophy of helping that can be implemented regardless of specific theoretical orientation. Offering description, rationale, and case examples, this book offers valuable information to clinicians at any experience level. Recognizing that MI is used by helpers outside of mental/behavioral health, the authors provide some focused insights specifically for therapists throughout the text. This course includes Chapter 1 through Chapter 7.

This course is based on the book, Motivational Interviewing Part 1 created by William R. Miller, PhD and Stephen Rollnick, PhD in 2023.
