This course is a critical review that examines various alcohol prevention programs for children, It includes: drug use prevention programs, description of programs, prevention programs by fields of action, conceptual framework of school-based prevention programs, outcomes of school-based prevention programs, conceptual framework of each type of program, and outcomes for each specific program.

This course is based on the reading-based online article, Prevention of Alcohol Consumption Programs for Children and Youth-A Narrative and Critical Review of Recent Publications created by Rafael Sánchez-Puertas et al. in 2022.

Dr. Vaca-Gallegos is a professor at the Department of Psychology, Particular Technical University of Loja in Loja, Ecuador. Her research interest includes addiction adolescent health and psychological assessment. She has had multiple works published in peer reviewed journals.
