Utilizing CBT in the Treatment of Panic Disorders and Health Anxiety

About the Course

Panic disorder is frequently encountered in psychotherapy practice. Panic attacks may present on their own or in conjunction with other anxiety disorders or other psychiatric conditions. Panic disorder can also be associated with phobic avoidance and cause considerable impairment. Health anxiety, previously described as hypochondriasis, is also frequently seen in clinical practice and may present along with panic disorder or in conjunction with OCD or other anxiety issues. CBT has been found to be an effective therapy for both panic attacks and health anxiety. This seminar will explore the CBT model for these issues and will describe interventions that can be successfully used with these clients.

This course is based on the recorded webinar, CBT for Panic and Health Anxiety created by John Ludgate, PhD in 2023.
