This course describes a mixed methods study that evaluated the effectiveness of recovery-focused treatment across acute inpatient wards. The study looked at the view of service users, carers and staff to determine which factors facilitated recovery based care and which factors acted as barriers.

Michael Coffey, RN, PhD
Micheael is a professor in the Department of Public Health at Swansea University. He researches policy, delivery and organisation of mental health care from a social sciences perspective. He is currently working on a NIHR funded evidence synthesis of End of Life Care for people with severe mental illness with colleagues at Cardiff University and hist work has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals.
Ben Hannigan, RN, PhD
Ben Harrgan is a Professor of Mental Health Nursing and Director of Postgraduate Research. He combines researching mental health systems and services with teaching across all academic levels. Over the years his work has been published in multiple journals, books, book chapters, blog pieces.
Sally Barlow
Sally Barlow is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at City University of London. Her main area of research has focused on mental health and is now specifically focused on recovery-focused mental health and collaborative care. Her work has been published in mulitple peer reviewed journals.
