Improving the Mental Health of Women Intimate Partner Violence Survivors:

Findings from a Realist Review of Psychsocial Interventions

About the Course

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is highly prevalent and associated with a range of mental health problems. This realist review explores the mechanisms of action involved in psychosocial interventions developed to support the recovery of women survivors of IPV. Findings suggest that the greatest impacts come from taking a holistic view of a problem and providing individualized and trauma-informed support. Key words: Intimate partner violence, IPV, psychosocial interventions, trauma-informed

This course is based on the reading-based online article, Improving the Mental Health of Women Intimate Partner Violence Survivors: created by Sharli Anne Paphitis, PhD et al. in 2022.
