About the Course

This course discusses the role of impulsivity in Gambling Disorder. It includes the model proposed by MacKillop et al., delay discounting, sensation seeking, associations between impulsivity, associations between impulsivity measures, impulsivity tendencies, the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11), GD severity, and the UPPS-P model. This course has a significant amount of statistical data.

Gemma Mestre-Bach

Gemma Mestre-Bach, is a researcher in the Psychiatry research group at Bellvitge Hospital and current lecturer at the International University of La Rioja, and has obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the UB. Her work has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals.

Trevor Steward, PhD

Dr. Trevor Steward is a NHMRC/MRFF Fellow investigating the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders. His research focuses on using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to understand how the brain regulates emotions and reframes negative beliefs. He has had more than 50 works published in peer reviewed journals.

She has worked with dementia and Alzheimers patients, dual diagnosis MH/MR, in a battered women’s shelter, and a rape crisis center. She also has 11 years of experience as a child protective social worker, where she earned certificates in domestic abuse/family violence and substance abuse.
