A Systematic Review on the Use of Psychosocial Interventions in Conjunction With Medications for the Treatment of Opioid Addiction

About the Course

This course discusses the use of psychosocial counseling in patients receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT). It examines various approaches in patients receiving methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. The interventions examined were CM, CBT, behavioral drug and HIV risk reduction counseling, ACT, general (non-specified) supportive counseling, and a web-based behavioral intervention. This is a research intensive course.

This course is based on the reading-based online article, A Systematic Review on the Use of Psychosocial Interventions in Conjunction With Medications for the Treatment of Opioid Addiction created by Karen Dugosh, PhD et al in 2016.
