Family therapy has a long and solid history within the mental health field, wherein the family as a whole is the focus of treatment. Integrated models for substance abuse treatment and family therapy can provide effective solutions to multiple problems. This course discusses the theory and techniques of these integrated therapeutic models, along with the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment model.
This course is based on Chapter 4 of (TIP 39) Substance Abuse Treatment And Family Therapy created by SAMHSA in 2015.

Dr. Ilana Breslau is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in New York City, where she specializes in treating addictions, trauma, and mood and anxiety disorders. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Breslau is a supervising psychologist and Director of Continuing Education at North Central Bronx Hospital, and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
