About the Course

This course examines screening issues for people with disabilities. It includes: disability etiquette, screening for disabilities, from screening to treatment, a case study, intake, adapting SUD screening for persons with co-existing disabilities, and use of screening information. Each type of disability is highlighted through the entire screening and intake process.

  2. Identify what parts of the screening process should be modified based on type and severity of disability.
  3. Summarize communication issues and solutions with deaf and hard of clients as well as those with cognitive impairments.
