About the Course

This national report summarizes key findings from the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) for indicators of substance use and mental health among people aged 12 years old or older in the civilian, noninstitutionalized population of the United States. Results are provided for the overall category of individuals aged 12 or older as well as by age subgroups. This information allows the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and other policymakers to gauge progress toward improving the health of the nation and helps treatment providers see trends in use and co-occurring disorders.

This course is based on the article, How LGBT+ Young People Use the Internet in Relation to Their Mental Health and Envisage the Use of e-Therapy created by SAMHSA in 2017.
