After taking this course, you should be able to:
Understand the process and tools to be used when identifying children and adolescents who may have a mental health or substance use problem.
Grasp the value of early identification of children and adolescents' potential for mental health or substance use problems, how to develop an effective approach to improve identification and access to care while applying the basic principles to design of early identification and the Access-to Care program.
Acknowledge the sound methods to identify children and adolescents who may have a mental health or substance use problem by determining the goals for populations of concern while selecting an identification method for the cultures and languages of the groups being screened.
Be aware of the mental health and substance use/abuse screening tools for children and adolescents.
