About the Course:
Alcohol, Energy Drinks, and Youth: A Dangerous Mix explains how despite the sharp increase in sales of alcoholic energy drinks, their appeal to underage drinkers, and the health concerns involved in mixing stimulants with alcohol, research on the potential dangers of these products remain limited. This study reviews what data is available and takes an in-depth look at the alcohol industry’s marketing practices promoting the consumption of alcoholic energy drinks. These results, while preliminary, are unsettling. Both scientists and policymakers should focus increased attention on this emerging product category.
