In the bulletin,The Youth Gangs, Drugs, and Violence Connection, a brief historical overview of gang drug use, trafficking, and violent crime is provided. Studies of drug trafficking operations are then reviewed to provide a better understanding of how illegal drug sales typically are controlled and managed. The bulletin concludes with a detailed review of studies of the gangs, drugs, and violence connection and an examination of other sources of gang violence.
