Quaaludes

The Drug Library

About the Course:

Ludes…vitamin Q…sopers…quaaludes. These illegal psychoactive drugs have a high potential for abuse. The strength and purity of quaaludes sold on the street is unpredictable and dangerous. Though they initially seem to make the user feel livelier, friendlier, and more confident, quaaludes actually have significant sedating effects. Because they sometimes make the user feel invincible, quaaludes have been linked to automobile accidents, deliberate and accidental suicides, and drownings. In Quaaludes, author Maryann Ziemer explores the physical, emotional, historical, and societal effects of quaaludes.
