About the Course:
The “Iraq War Clinician Guide” was developed by members of the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It was developed specifically for clinicians and addresses the unique needs of veterans of the Iraq War.
This course is recommended for social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other human services and behavioral health professionals who seek knowledge about veterans of the Iraq War. It is appropriate for participants with intermediate to advanced levels of knowledge about the topic.
Identify background issues, assessment guidelines, and treatment recommendations for the returning veteran of the Iraq War.
Identify treatment considerations for medical casualty evacuees.
Identify implications for primary care treatment of Iraq War veterans with PTSD.
Identify symptomatology and treatment of traumatic grief in Iraq War veterans.
Identify issues in caring for veterans experiencing military sexual trauma.
