Our distant learning courses are accepted for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the NMCTPB.
NMCTPD requires that 12 of the 40 hours must be in ethics, and if the licensee supervises anyone then they also are required to have 3 hours specific to counseling and therapy supervision and 6 specific to ethics in supervision.
NMCTPD accepts up to 276 hours of our distant learning courses for initial licensure. Please be sure to check Board regulations regarding specific content requirements for initial licensure.
Note: The board may approve, on a case-by-case basis, applicants whose education is not a counseling related field, and education and training to include 276 clock hours in the following areas:
(a) 180 hours in the field of substance abuse
(b) 90 hours in the field of counseling
© 6 hours that pertain specifically to alcohol and drug counseling ethics training
Addiction Counselor CE is a service of CE Learning Systems LLC. CE Learning Systems is approved to offer continuing educations courses by NAADAC and many ICRC certification boards. CE Learning Systems LLC maintains responsibility for the courses.
